As Robert and I were
standing outside havin' a cigarette (or at least he was), we spied two
dogs running on the other side of the street. We quickly shuffled Officer
(Robert's dog) inside
as the other dogs approached us. I couldn't help
but to notice that they were tied together
with a shared dog chain.
They must have broken it off where ever they were secured. That is
pretty redneck tieing two dogs with one chain. They were friendly critters,
very obedient, and
hung out with us for a long time. Of course, I was
holding their chain (which was actually a
cable). I quickly called 911,
and got the number to the local dog warden, who came a 1/2 hour
later.
Off went the puppies, hopefully to be returned to their master. They were rather
large
dogs, one was a chow dog. I wish I could have kept them. Good
Luck Doggies!
BBrrrrrrrrr. It was
a cold night, but I knew I had to get out to my storage unit to get my winter
jacket and boots before the storm hit. It wasn't windy out, so It
wasn't so bad to be out in it, and I
could look forward to putting on
the jacket when I finally got there as well. I always bring my rental
agreement, in case the cops mess with me while I am there. I sure am glad
that the unit is within
walking distance, although it is still a mile
away. The best part of a walk like that is that I do my
best thinking
while I am out. Walking is good for the mind and body, Get out and walk
today!
I hated to do it,
but the little mouse came back into the house and was gettin' into my food, and
bein' rather noisy at night. Plus he was leavin' turds all over the
table, lol. I borrowed the
electric mouse trap from downstairs and
plugged in some new batteries, then I put some
peanut butter inside,
and before ya know it ZAP!, I got me a mouse. The next morning, the light
was blinking and I looked inside to see that I captured "Speedy Jr." So I
reset it, in case there
was another running around, and sure enough, by
the next morning, the light was blinking
again. Speedy's sister got in
on the action. I hate killing little creatures, but it had to be done.
Now the house is quiet and mouse free again. I guess it is still more
humane then getting a cat.
Well, as my new flat
screen monitor slowly gets worse, I was forced to bring in my old monitor
from the kitchen to use for my new computer. I decided to continue using
the flat screen for
the lower computer for IM's and e-mails, cuz it is
still usable, just not perfect. Now I have 2
monitors, 2 key boards,
and 2 mouses on the desk. It is actually easier that way, but I had to
create the room to get it all on my little desk. I pulled the desk from the
wall a little, and did
what I could with the stuff that was on the
desk. I also managed to get the mouses to work on
a clipboard on a
pulled out drawer. All in all, it is a functional work area for me, and I am
enjoying it greatly. My computer epicenter is slowly improving.
I guess I should
have waited, but I guess I just couldn't. My Sister, Linda, sent me my Christmas
present from her home in Utah, and I got it the other day, and quickly
opened it. I was happy to
receive a neat indoor/outdoor temperature
gauge with a self setting clock. The unit had a
remote sensor for the
outside temp that uses a little radio transmitter to get the info to it. It also
senses the correct time through the radio which is tuned to the US
atomic clock signal, so it is
right on the button. I love technological
stuff like this. She also sent me a pair of nifty flannel
pants to wear
around the house. They are quite comfy. All in all, I am very happy with my
presents. It was a nice beginning to the Christmas season for me.
This Christmas, I am
rather poor. So I borrowed $20 from my cousin, and went to Walmart with
Al to get some stuff to get me through the holidays. I got a string of
lights and a couple electric
candles for the window. Now the place
looks Christmas-y. There are a number of display
around town this year,
but there were a few that were not lit on Christmas eve! I thought that
was rather odd, but I figured that they went away for the Holiday and
forgot to turn them on.
That's Morrisville for ya. I sure would have
remembered. This years Christmas will be a quiet
one for me, but I
don't mind. I need some peace and quiet right now after the hustle and bustle
semester, and all that I have been through, and I can look forward to
going to my family
Christmas this weekend. It will be good to get out
of town for a couple days. When my
unemployment comes in this week, I
will take advantage of the after Christmas sales to shop
for the
family, and I will also get some of my friends some belated gifts as well. I
hope
everyone's Christmas went well, send me an e-mail letting me know
what ya got. This year I will
reflect on my past years Christmases and
all the memories we made. Merry Christmas to ya!
