It doesn't happen
very often around here, so it is always a noteworthy event. I snapped a
couple pix as soon as I noticed the beautiful rainbow above the Mobil. I
guess it was a sign of
hope to let us know that life isn't so bad after
all.
I decided that it
was time for a change. I spent a few hours, the other night, changing my room
around to better suit my needs. Everyone likes how cozy and convenient it
is now. Go Me!
Hope all goes well
for everyone this year.
Amanda had a baby
girl this month. She is very proud of herself and is very happy to
have
a little girly. She takes good care of her and will make a good mommy. Amanda
was the first of the Morrisville girlies. She meant a lot to me when
she hung out at my
pad on the Hill, and we still manage to keep in
touch since she moved to Utica to step
into life. Go Amanda!
The Lemon Desk has
been a computing tradition of mine for a very long time now. I moved into
my room at Georgetown back in 2000 and needed a computer desk for my rigs.
I walked into the
attic room and all I could find was this yellow door
and a couple shelves. I quickly turned them
into a desk and was very
happy. After I moved to Morrisville in 2001, Ralph helped me out with a
set of legs from a table to finally create the modern Lemon Desk. The name
came from a period
of time when everything that was yellow had to be
called the "lemon...." It all started with a cute
blond haired girl in
my life named Jamie who loved lemonade with double lemon, a drink she used
to get me to make her when we worked together at a fancy restaurant in
Sherburne. Jamie was
also my first Internet contact, and we used to
talk all the time on AIM and Yahoo! We still talk
sometimes and she is
still very special to me. She and her boyfriend at the time Wayne helped
me get through many tough times in life. We have always been famous
Internet personalities.
The desk has been signed by almost everyone I
know and has many memories written all over it.
I still can't seem to
top the desk or bear to replace it. Go Lemon Desk!
Winter break was
short but good. I managed to get almost all the work done I wanted to, and
some relaxation as well. I am a little behind in my bills, but I will catch
them up now that I am back
to full time again. I managed to get out of
town to chill with the family for our Christmas
celebration. We swung
by the old house I grew up in on the way home. I ran into my old friend
Gonzo while we were parked in Morris (my home town) taking pictures. Now I
am ready to roll into
a new semester and bring on the summer in 14
weeks! YAY!
There was a big fire
in Morrisville a couple weeks ago. It was our friend Cabbie's rental house. He
has rented a room to most of us there through the years we have been
here. I will never forget
my time spent in that house with my friends
and all the good times we had. His house was always
the center of our
little world of partying and hanging out with each other. It has also been the
center of all the festival goers. My favorite times were spent in the
back yard chillin' with a good
cup of coffee, or a wine cooler, and
watching the dogs and cats play. I will miss the times spent
petting
the kitties, Mama and Tigger. Let's not forget Officer the Dog. I still manage
to pet her
sometimes cuz she lives with Robert at his new place. The
old house burnt down but the
memories will always be there. The family
that was living there all survived, but they lost all their
possessions. It will be a great loss to us all, and marks the end of an
era. Good Bye Cabbie's.
