Ralph and Shawn
Cut Their Hair!
|
I discovered a
wonderful website that is centered around posting videos and video blogs.
Since I signed up with them last year, I have posted any number of vids
there. Some are just
me rambling on about nonsense, but others are
wonderful productions I came up with so my
friends can see what my
Morrisville life is all about. I made one about how we make our
pizzas
at
the pizza shop and it has become very popular. I guess many people picked up the
video
using "Google Video
Search" and it has
received over 1500 hits so far. I have had a ball
meeting different
people and viewing their vids as well. My video tour of
Morrisville was too
large for their requirements so I had to post that one on my MySpace.
Check them out when
you get a chance and
leave me a comment.
Changes at the
Pizza Shop
|
The pizza shop may
just be a little bit different this year. Al has decided to advance his career
by
going to college this year. Morrisville has a great food service
program and he is all signed up
and ready to go this semester. Since he
will be quite busy with that, I will be taking on more
responsibility
at the shop. I may not achieve manager, or the salary that comes with it, but I
will be
managing the shop when Al can not. I was hoping to just work
the register this year, but I guess I
will have to buck up and take
charge of things. We got a top notch crew at the shop, so I think we
will all do well this year. Al will still be working the shop, just not
near as much before. Come on
down and have a slice sometime.
The grass just keeps
on growing, and I just keep on mowing. One of my duties here on the Hill
has been to help keep the grass and weeds at bay. I have been buzzing
around like mad
trimming and pushing the lawn mower around. I managed
to get some sun as well. It must have
been quite a sight to see me
mowing the other day almost naked in a effort to get a good sun
burn,
lol. The Hill looks good due to our efforts and Morrisville is much happier with
us this year
\It if finally berry
picking time again, so off I went the other day to find them. I have my usual
berry patches I seek out. Right now the Black Raspberries are in
season. They are my
favorite, but it will be only a couple weeks and
the Black berries will be ready. I have to hike a
little further to
find them. Picking berries is a tradition that dates back to since I was a
little kid.
Doing it today helps me stay young and gives me an outlet,
not to mention a good excuse to
take a walk. Go pick some berries
today!
We were the 3
original "long hairs" in Morrisville, but now the tradition is carried on only
by me. Ralph and Shawn have both cut off their manes and I am the only
one left with
long hair in our social circle. Long hair is a tradition
as old as time itself. All the great
warriors in the past wore long
hair. Even our nations original leaders wore wigs to give
the
appearance of having long hair, since most of them were bald, lol. In our life
time,
the musicians of the 60's and 70's wore long hair, and such
became a tradition for the 3
of us. Shawn (My cousin) has dabbled in
the music business most of his life. Ralph and
I were in many bands
together which played music all around the state. They decided to
cut
their hair for any number of reasons, mostly cuz it is just easier to manage
then long
hair is, but I am hanging in there with my collection of
combs and conditioners to keep
up the good image it gives me. It is
still important to me, so I will continue to go with it. I
am a hard
person to change.
In one of our usual
walks around town Me and Robert found some graffiti on one of the village
buildings so we went to investigate it. Some one really spent some time on
these drawings cuz they
were quite advanced. I felt a need to take
pictures to preserve their memory. Usually graffiti around
town has
been limited to Gang related markings, but these were more personal. I was quite
impressed.
